Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Lines of Legacy booth at the Detroit Festival of Books! It was an incredible day connecting with readers, educators, families, and community leaders from across Michigan and beyond.

More than 30 signed copies found new homes, but what stood out most were the conversations with educators, families, and community leaders looking for engaging ways to bring Black history into classrooms and communities.

Whether through the book, classroom activities, or future speaking engagements, I'm excited to continue building meaningful educational experiences that inspire learning through creativity.

Detroit Public Library — Juneteenth Adult Program
Led an interactive Black history workshop where participants explored historical figures through coloring, discussion, and personal reflection, creating meaningful conversations around history, identity, and community.

Career Day Presenter — Earhart Middle School (Detroit Public Schools Community District)
Led four interactive sessions with 7th-grade students, sharing insights on entrepreneurship, creativity, business, and the journey of creating Lines of Legacy. Students explored how ideas can evolve into community-focused initiatives and careers.
